Stacey Nau Welch Stacey Nau was born in Los Angeles. Her father first introduced her to natural stones. The two enjoyed hunting for pyrite in the abandon gold mines of southern California. An agate bracelet was her first beloved piece of jewelry. She first studied Art Silver Clay under Ana Noyce. This incredible medium opened a new artistic world. She later received her Art Silver Clay certification from Sallie Bly, ACS Senior Instructor. Artist Statement- "I love teaching because with each student I get to see the art form from a completely new perspective. I often learn a new twist on an old technique. Artists are never a finished work. Therefore I believe that teaching adds to my depth & experience as well as theirs." "My studio is called Refining Works Studio. The definition of refining is v. to purify by removing unwanted material: to improve.* I believe that God uses the experiences in our life to burn away the unhelpful pieces of ourselves. To cleanse us and form the beautiful souls He intends for us to be. When we fire Art Silver Clay, we use a kiln or a torch to burn away all the additives, leaving .999% pure silver. Unique and one of a kind pieces are forged, products of our artistic input and the purification of fire." Art Silver Clay Classes Materials for all classes are provided and included in the class price. All tools & other supplies are for sale if interested. Prices change according to the sliver market.
